TCL. Mobilizes Support for Chiang Rai Flood Victims, Launching Large-Scale Kitchen in Mae Sai
September 14, 2024 – Mr. Atthawit Rakjamroon, Acting Managing Director of The Transport Company Limited (BorKorSor), announced the launch of a large-scale kitchen at Mae Sai Bus Station, Wiang Phang Kham Subdistrict, Mae Sai District, Chiang Rai Province. The initiative aims to prepare 10,000 meal boxes along with bottled water for distribution to flood victims in the area.
Employees, including station managers, bus station staff, drivers, and attendants, worked together to prepare the meals, with the goal of alleviating hardships caused by the ongoing floods.
Relief Distribution
The meal boxes and bottled water were delivered to:
- Mae Sai Immigration Checkpoint
- Mae Khao Tom Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Mueang District, Chiang Rai Province
- Koh Chang Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Mae Sai District, Chiang Rai Province
These supplies will be further distributed to affected communities, following the Ministry of Transport’s directive to provide comprehensive support to flood victims.
Flood Situation Update
Reports from Chiang Rai and Mae Sai bus stations indicate that water levels at key areas, such as the Phokhun Five-Way Intersection and the bridge over the Kok River, have receded. However, due to persistent flooding since September 13, 2024, the Bangkok-Mae Sai and Bangkok-Chiang Saen bus routes have been temporarily terminated at Chiang Rai Bus Terminal 2. Normal operations will resume once the flood situation is resolved.
This relief effort underscores BorKorSor’s commitment to supporting affected communities and aligns with the Ministry of Transport’s mission to assist disaster-affected citizens to the fullest extent.
