“Surapong” Orders Transformation of Mo Chit 2 Bus Terminal to Match Airport Standards
Mr. Atthawit Rakjamroon, Acting Managing Director of The Transport Company Limited (BorKorSor), announced a comprehensive renovation of the Bangkok Bus Terminal (Chatuchak), commonly known as Mo Chit 2, as part of Deputy Minister of Transport Mr. Surapong Piyachote’s policy to modernize public transportation services. The aim is to enhance convenience, safety, and seamless connectivity for passengers, delivering a New Year 2025 gift to the public.
Key Renovations at Mo Chit 2
BorKorSor is implementing eight major upgrades, expected to be completed by the end of 2024:
Platform Revamp
- The outbound platform has been freshly painted and is now operational for public use.
New Passenger Seating
- All seating areas on the 1st floor (Northern, Central, Eastern, and Southern routes) and 3rd floor (Northeastern routes) have been replaced with new, modern chairs. Platform seating upgrades are ongoing.
Enhanced Lighting
- Upgrading lighting systems within and outside the terminal to improve visibility and safety.
Restroom Renovations
- Restrooms are being overhauled for enhanced usability and cleanliness.
New Elevators
- Two large elevators are being installed at the outbound platform to accommodate all passengers, including the elderly and those with disabilities.
Modernized Entrances
- Four new entrances are being installed: two on the 1st floor and two on the 3rd floor, offering spacious and modern access points.
Free Mobile Charging Stations
- Five charging stations are being added: three on the 1st floor and two on the 3rd floor, providing free charging for passengers.
Large LED Display Boards
- Real-time bus schedules and travel information will be displayed on large LED screens inside the terminal, improving passenger convenience and travel planning.
